Good OK, so I need to know.
Hi, you got your computer again.
You got your computer working.
Yes, so we had to re or uninstall the camera app thingy and then reinstall it.
Got it OK. I need to know this holy crap. This thing behind Maine. Cool or not cool.
K I'm going to change it and you tell me if it's easy or hard to read. I'm gonna change it to the UM.
This one I don't like the.
See if I can find the other one.
This one was easier to read I think, but other one has a.
Let's try another one then.
I'm just trying to get a little fancy.
So my screen I I don't know if it's just like too much on my computer, but like it keeps flashing and going black, but does that affect?
Me on your guises stream.
I will say you're it's not as clear.
Should I just use my phone?
And I I think it's fine. I'm not sure. I don't know whatever.
I will say your phone camera did. It did come in clear. I will say that.
Is it easy to switch to your phone? 'cause I don't wanna make it difficult.
And you could do it like in like 2 minutes.
Awesome. OK uhm the only feedback for Chandler. I was wondering I love.
Audrey, Audrey Audrey Yeah.
But when people see this on their computers or even on their phones, the squares are really small and I don't know can you move the computer closer to you so that we can see more of you?
Peter Sun gonna be in your face.
Uhm, OK, I got a different Holy Cross thing behind me. Can you tell it's the Holy Cross?
OK, I'm gonna turn. I'm gonna turn off that here I'm gonna turn these lights.
Better or worse with the light on or off.
There is not much difference sadly.
What's a better with the line?
So even though I OK little secret, even though I'm wearing a button down shirt, I'm wearing basketball shorts.
Look at K. I'll be right there, but um.
I have a little fun this evening I put together a photo slideshow.
And I'm going to try to have it running in the background.
A man I see Catherine is here. Hey Catherine, can you or let's see.
Actually, I'm going to ask.
Colin, Colin or captured one of you two. Uhm, I need somebody who is going to.
So if any of you want to pop on your camera to let me know if you're going to be the one to pick our winners.
Join some better lighting.
Hey team, I'm happy to choose a winner, I mean.
I could go either way, but I'm happy to, uh, let's see. That means I should pop back in for the for the announcement or just text you.
So let's do this, what if, uhm?
I just do it through chat.
Yeah, why don't we just do it through the chat?
You could just. You could prompt me and say Catherine can you type in the name of our winner or something?
Yeah, yeah, I'll do that. So when we when we pick our winners I I will let you know so just have them ready. You know before 9:30.
OK, so you want me to pick the winners, write, pick the winners.
Yep, so pick up. Pick four students.
Um, who have they have to be marked, attended? That's only fair. Got it, OK?
The only thing I I don't know if I'll be able to do ones that I'm sure haven't got it before.
OK, yeah, I mean it's not the biggest deal.
I remember the names of my students who have received them before, but I'll try to get 4.
For students, OK two guys. Two guys probably.
Doesn't matter well, just random.
Random, OK, great great I'll do. I'll do it with him and I will.
I will give you a Q and I'll have you type in the feed and I'll just read the names off. So say put there like first like put their first name and then there's like city and state.
Brittany, can you talk for about 30 seconds so we could test out your microphone?
Yeah, what do you want me to say like anything?
Yeah, just like you're doing.
Yeah, keep talking, tell me why your day, Brittany.
I walked down 500 feet to take out my trash. 'cause That's just how much land we own in Lewisville is like 5 acres. Yeah it was not fun but it's nice to get out so.
I mean, your microphone sounds good, not the work to take Chandler can you? Can you talk for about 30 seconds?
Awesome hey Mike's here. Mike Griffin's gonna be in the background. Doctor Griffin he's gonna help moderate the chat and I'm gonna give go ahead and test the screen share to see if and Mike if you wanted to. I don't know if you have access to your camera.
Michael Griffin
08:55:58 PM
Hello everybody!
But we've got about four minutes. If you wanted to come on and give a pep talk.
No, I why mine doesn't mind doesn't give me the broadcast option.
Which perhaps is helpful, because, uh, it's Jordan's way of telling me I can't take over it. I can't take over an event.
Now it's it's a It's alright.
What's the timer? Can somebody let me know what the timers?
K thanks Mike. If you guys wanted to go jump in the background now, OK.
I was like probably right.
Yep, just a broadcast video button and then I will call you guys back in.

09:05:25 PM
How is the Food at Holy Cross?
Hi everybody, I'm Chandler. I'm from Richmond VA. I currently live in Uh N Hall at Holy Cross. I am a sophomore graphic design student. Uhm.
Yeah, that's that's pretty much me.
Like thanks for being here, Chandler. Uhm, let's go to Brittany Next, Britney uh, why don't you give us a an introduction?
Hi everyone, my name is Brittany. I'm a freshman and I'm really interested in stem, so I'm planning on after my second year maybe transferring to Notre Dame, but I still have Holy Cross and call it home. I live in James Hall and I was heavily involved in like campus ministry in the cannabis, Pete Labor, Catholic Peace, Fellowship on campus.
Wonderful, and where are you coming from tonight Britney.
I'm from Lewisville, Indiana, so I kind of the central part of the state.
Yeah, wonderful um? And last but not least, we have Red Robin. I don't you give us an introduction.
Colin McNamara
09:07:31 PM
Hey James! Personally, I think the food is awesome! Notre Dame Dinning Services provides the food. Lets hear the student's perspective during the Q/A. Good Question!

09:07:44 PM
The slideshow is working :)
Michael Griffin
09:07:46 PM
Slideshow looks great!
Catherine Ficker
09:07:59 PM
Yay, Zion! so glad you're here!
Wonderful well. Thank you all so much for being here and actually we are trying something new. I've got a little photo slideshow that I think is going in the background or you guys can see that uhm. I hope that's working just to give you a little view of campus through all the seasons since we're not able to give any tours. Hopefully, that's working because we don't have a formal PowerPoint or presentation tonight.
Sure, so like I really love Holy Cross like the tight knit community. Like I know everyone and like actually right now I've had some professors email me asking if I'm OK and like how I'm handling this like distance learning transition and it's like it feels like a family because it is a family and it's really nice because you can also do stuff at Saint Mary's or Notre Dame. And it's like a big welcoming community between all of the campuses.
A great sagas I answers, uh, the the show is working so I'm gonna throw out my first question to the panel. And the first question maybe kind of a softball. I tell our viewers what your favorite thing about being at Holy Cross is, and to get us started. Britney, do you want to answer that first?
Ashley M.
09:08:47 PM
The slideshow is great.
Yeah, I'm not happy with.
Now that sounds great. Um Peter, How about you? What's your favorite thing about Holy Cross College?
Yeah it's really cold if you need people there my name.
Communities the defacing is well, is Titan you do with oranges.
Patrick S.
09:09:38 PM
My question is how do I contact my academic advisor?
Great and Peter of Teller Viewers. Holy Cross is a little bit of a tradition for your family, is that right?
So my idea from us and it's always.
Catherine Ficker
09:10:01 PM
Sully, you meet your academic advisor over SOAR orientation which will be in June.
It was dropped, dropped all the way Indiana was donated to the community.
Locations along the variation.
Catherine Ficker
09:10:38 PM
but you can contact your Admissions counselor now for academic advising questions.
Camille T.
09:10:47 PM
Is anyone else having trouble hearing Jordan and Brittney?
We yeah, we love you truly Holy Cross family UM and and we've loved having you and all your siblings on our campus. Chandler. Actually I have a question for you. You are part of the signature scholar entree scholars and actually a lot of our viewers tonight had interviewed for that program. Can you tell us maybe your things about Holy Cross but also tells about some of the opportunities or the community that you've built by being a part of the signature scholar program.
Yanni V.
09:11:15 PM
I can’t hear them either
Caleb C.
09:11:15 PM
I can hear just fine
Catherine Ficker
09:11:18 PM
Camille, I recommend refreshing your browser, Chrome is best
We're going to work. She might be resetting her her camera. So let's hey, we're going to jump to Brianna and like we always say we're really live. So this these things are going to happen. Brianna that question that we asked at the beginning. What was your favorite thing about Holy Cross College?
Camille T.
09:11:53 PM
Ok. I’ll switch to chrome. Thank you.
Zion R.
09:11:58 PM
How big are the freshman classes?
Yes, yes I. I don't know what happened there.
Chandler, can you welcome back? Can you Chris? OK uhm.
That's OK, well, we're glad you're back. The question we had for you was uhm, so you are part of the signature scholar Andre Group, Correct? And?
So I also want you to answer a question your favorite thing about Holy Cross, but maybe talk about some of the opportunities or the community that you've been able to join because of the Moro and Andre Scholars.
Colin McNamara
09:14:32 PM
Zion,We expect this incoming class to be around 225 students! The student to faculty ratio at Holy Cross is 14 to 1
Yes, so my favorite thing about Holy Cross is that you're definitely a name and not a number, and that's what I like was looking for in a school and I'm like on a first name basis with all my professors. I pretty much know everybody on campus since I've lived on campus for two years. There's not a time where I don't say hi to someone in the hallway and it's just like when you're having a bad day and you you like don't want to go to the class that you like least like.
Not great, um, throw this question out to to anybody who wants to answer this.
And you see your friends before you go in. And it just like makes your day and like helps you get through that class 'cause you know, like right afterwards, you'll see him again. Um, to answer the signature scholars question, we have a community that within that group and my group is run by brother bill in. He likes to gather us together and have like 1 on one meetings just to see how we're doing and.
So like help us with our classes and like um help us like as like a mentor in a way that's not like a student or just like it's it's pretty nice yeah.
Patrick S.
09:15:02 PM
Outstanding thank you
Connor T.
09:15:04 PM
Hello from Florida
We like to talk a lot about the try campus community, meaning that you have a very tight knit community at Holy Cross which all of you have talked about really getting to know each other. And actually I see a question that came through here. How big are freshman classes? Are average classroom size is only 14 students and there will be no classroom larger than 30 students. And that's one of the benefits of a small liberal arts college is, you know your professors very well. You know your classmates, you know your dorm mates, but we are part of the Tri campus here.
In Notre Dame, Indiana with great partners at Saint Mary's and the University of Notre Dame, where students can take classes, join clubs, use the gym and the other facilities in the library and get tickets to even athletic defense. So maybe football games, which are of course a lot of fun. Anybody have some examples of ways that you have engaged across the Tri campus? Maybe get involved in a club or making friends across the different campuses?
It looks let's have Brittany 1st and then Chandler.
OK so I am a part of the Notre Dame rocket team, which is really cool. It's like a NASA sponsored event where we actually build rockets and actually get to launch them. In practice. Everything always like safe measures an I'm in the not so Royal Shakespeare Company, whereas a set designer for Romeo and Juliet. It's a lot of fun because like all the clubs are very welcoming and they encourage students from every campus to be there and I'm looking to join. Maybe like the juggling club next semester, 'cause that would be interesting. It's something cool to say that I did in college.
Great Britney. Would you say that anything that you're interested in or you have a passion about or you want to find a new or explore new talent? You can find it somewhere on the try campus.
Colin McNamara
09:16:26 PM
Reminder: If you have a question, please type them here!
There is absolutely everything you could ever want, like I was surprised going to all the activities fair sing like a bagpipe club. I never thought I'd see that what is pretty cool?
Awesome about you, Chandler.
So I'm involved more along the lines of UM football at Notre Dame. I am a I have two jobs that I hold with Notre Dame football. Uh, one being a Irish ambassador, which is where I take high school football recruits around Notre Dames Campus on game days or just in different events throughout the year. And then my second job with Notre Dame football is that I'm a graphic designer with them.
Zion R.
09:17:16 PM
I can’t hear Brittany or Jordan. I’ve refreshed my browser
So since my major is graphic design, I'm looking to go into doing something sports related after college, so this is helping me tremendously like learn how to like communicate to an audience so large since we do.
Catherine Ficker
09:17:28 PM
Sorry, Zion.
Broadcast all of our sporting events through NBC. I am able to like work with them as well, which is pretty awesome.
Yanni V.
09:17:36 PM
I can't hear Jordan either
Awesome wow this is some amazing opportunities. Even if you were at a large University. I mean those type of opportunities would probably be hard to come by. So to get those type of opportunities like to engage in life at Notre Dame was that something. Did you have to take that initiative? Did you go to activities fair? How did you find these opportunities?
So a few of my friends at Holy Cross. Um applied for this job and they all got it. So when the second round of applications went through, I applied. So what I did was I went into an interview with a few of the people, and.
The person that interviewed me was head coach Brian Kelly, so it was pretty pretty fine. Um, pretty nerve racking up, but it was pretty much just word of mouth. Um, by like applying and such. So just keep your eye out for anything on Notre Dame football's Instagram pages.
Wow, and for those of you who don't know, Brian Kelly is actually the head football coach at Notre Dame, so you interviewed with the head football coach ticket. This. That's awesome. I actually OK. I want to jump back, so I'm going to ask Peter Question and then Brianna question. Then we're going to kind of dive into some of the viewer questions and I just reset my audio and video.
Catherine Ficker
09:19:08 PM
can you hear Jordan now?
Andrew F.
09:19:15 PM
Do we choose roommates or is it a random selection?
Would be curious if those who were having issues hearing me were able to hear me now. I think most people can hear me, but we might have had some isolated cases. I just refreshed to see if that would help. So Peter, you talked about being involved with campus ministry and having the ability to have a faith life at Holy Cross talk a little bit more about why it was important for you to be at a Catholic School.
An particularly uhm how holy crosses helped you explore and grow in your faith.
Colin McNamara
09:19:37 PM
Andrew, you will have the opportunity to choose your room preferences and roommates once the Housing Contract is released. You should receive an email once the contract is available.
Camille T.
09:19:44 PM
I can hear Jordan again!! Yay!!!
Yanni V.
09:19:47 PM
It is working now
Yeah, Have you ever face because the birds that are set?
But for people running the math, or doesn't take anything Chapel, and I guess it had until starting any update.
Loving greenhouse with everyone so it's typing it in.
Wonderful thanks Peter, and then Brianna. You've had, well, you now have the benefit of looking back at your time at Holy Cross because you are now a long alum and will forever be a representative of Holy Cross and.
Um, were of course proud of the things you were able to accomplish at Holy Cross. But looking back, being able to look back thinking about who you were as a first year student and how you grown what you've learned, how you've built your character, who you are. Can you talk a bit about the role Holy Cross played in that? Do you think Holy Cross live to its mission of forming people both mind and heart?
Brianna, can you hear Maine?
Ivan M.
09:22:30 PM
I'll be going to Holy Cross in the fall! What are some things I should be prepared/ready for going into the fall?
I think that was a pretty good question. I'm sorry that she um might join back here as she resets her video and her audio, so we're going to jump into some questions from our viewers and the very first question that I saw there, which is a very important question. When you are choosing your college or University, is how is the food. Anybody want to talk about dining Hall options at Holy Cross? Who wants to jump in there?
Andrew F.
09:22:58 PM
Now I can't hear him lol
Camille T.
09:23:09 PM
Hi from Michigan.
Brianna, so you said it got better over your time actually, and this is something the the younger students here aren't really familiar with. We actually changed food service providers about three years ago and we switch to Notre Dame food services, so the same chefs in the dining halls that students.
Skye L.
09:24:27 PM
What percentage of students get internships?
Experience at Notre Dame. We get that on just a little smaller scale at Holy Cross College, so our chef is actually a Notre Dame chef and the same menu and recipes and food source 8 and when we made that switch noted in dining, students saw a really big difference. Anybody else want to just make a quick comment about the food? How about you, Peter?
I couldn't find anything.
Great, here's a here's a great question from Ivan says I will be going to Holy Cross in the fall, so congratulations. Welcome Ivan. What are some things I should be prepared or ready for going into the fall? So if you have any advice for a new first year students to really hit the ground running, um, what would that be? Who wants to take that question?
Be the favorite is pretty decent detail.
Colin McNamara
09:25:53 PM
Skye, %100 of our students complete an internship! This is because it is a requirement before graduation. We have plenty of resources at HCC to help you find internships
Camille T.
09:26:04 PM
What made you decide to attend Holy Cross? What made you grateful for choosing Holy Cross after being there?
Really, how you were done, it's a Tom.
James O.
09:26:18 PM
I love ice cream! The Southwest salad sounds great! Love your answer Brianna and Peter thank you both very much! Very excited!
This is a matter with and that's it.
Caleb C.
09:26:21 PM
When you really need a quite place to study, where do you go?
Uhm, I would say uhm, definitely be organized. Um, when it comes to, um, those first few weeks of classes definitely like have like a binder for every class. Um, you'll learn like new ways of study. It's not the same as high school. Uhm, I was kind of blindsided by that. My first year, a man I had to make some really quick changes.
In the short amount of time, but other than that, I would definitely say it. Be open to new possibilities because college is a whole new ball game, so and it's an awesome 12.
Anybody else want to jump in their six for a new first year student?
Yanni V.
09:26:55 PM
Can you discuss the NROTC Prep Program
Get out there and have fun like don't be afraid to do something silly an like you don't have to feel like uncomfortable and scared. Everyone's in the same boat and just have fun with like your time and obviously work hard in your classes but be able to find that nice balance of having fun and working hard.
Here's another question. Uhm, how many students at Holy Cross get internships? Does anybody know? First of all, the answer to that and who has been looking ahead to there.
Patrick S.
09:27:35 PM
i am so excited about starting in the fall.
Nick L.
09:28:04 PM
can the dorm beds be lofted?
That's the right answer. So 100% of our students are required to complete an internship before graduation and there are only maybe 10 schools in the nation that require an internship before graduation. And if we're going to make that a requirement, that means we're going to have the.
Resources available for students to find their internships and for most students, these are querying over the summer months, but you're actually earning credit for it when you come back to Holy Cross College course. Our first year students.
Skye L.
09:28:32 PM
Great to hear!
Most students this is probably happening the summer between their junior and senior years, which is why their student had that experience yet.
Catherine Ficker
09:28:40 PM
Nick, yes, most dorm beds can be lofted.
Here's a great Caleb. Has a great question.
When you really need a quiet place to study, where do you go? Um, start with you Chandler. Where do you go to study?
There are numerous places where I go to study. Um, I'll either go to North Lounge, um, that's kind of like. Depends on the time that you go in there to study. Uhm, it can be loud. It can be quiet, it just depends, but I'll usually go to the atrium to study, which is like.
Right through like if you walk into the Driscoll Building, it's like up in the like second floor area. It's always quiet and it's just like a nice place to sit and do your homework. Plenty of light. It's very relaxing there too. So yeah, I miss it.
Great, anybody else? Some favorite study? Play some tips to share.
Valeria A.
09:29:42 PM
Is it difficult to double major?
Valeria A.
09:29:46 PM
Would you suggest to have a dormate during the first year at HC?
Nolan S.
09:30:05 PM
I will be a Freshman in the fall. How important is it to have a car?
Nolan S.
09:30:05 PM
My intention is to go to the student Mass on Sunday evenings. Do most students go to that?
Andrew P.
09:30:08 PM
How are the intramural sports at Holy Cross?
Anybody else want some jump in with a great study spot on campus?
Valeria A.
09:31:00 PM
I have the same question as Andrew P.
Great, and so we have a question here from Camille and it might be our last question since we are coming up now on 930 uh but communal asks Why did you choose Holy Cross College and or?
Michael Griffin
09:31:24 PM
We will make sure we send a personal answer to all those questions we cannot get to!
What are you grateful for about Holy Cross College and and so if this is your last, your last opportunity to talk to our students about possibly joining us at Holy Cross College.
What is it that you would say to them about, uh, the decision that you made to enroll at Holy Cross? And so I do. I do want each of you to be able to answer this, and whoever wants to go first.
'cause I know you might want to think about this just a little bit.
Turn off waiting for you.
Selena P.
09:32:36 PM
What would you recommend about deciding to attend Holy Cross
Zion R.
09:32:42 PM
I have the same question as Valeria A.
Edward H.
09:32:44 PM
I also have the same question as Andrew P
That's great Peter. Uhm, I it makes me really happy as a staff member of Holy Cross to know that what we say is our mission and our goal is something that you've actually experienced already at Holy Cross. It's not just a slogan, it's not just a mission statement. It's really how we operate as a college and for you to be able to say those things back to main. That's really impressive I, I'm sure.
A lot of college students could and couldn't maybe articulate what their schools mission is, and you were able to do it so perfectly. Thanks Peter. Who wants to go next?

Yes, as Dr. Griffin said, we will personally follow up with all the questions that have not yet been answered. Great questions everyone!
I think would be the logical.
There's there's definitely the committee. Also just a difference in how.
I'll go so I was stuck choosing between about 10 different schools before I had decided on Holy Cross and what really sold it for me was how close I got to like my admissions counselor. He really helped me through the process and when I first stepped foot on campus it felt like home and I knew this is where I had to be. The girl I stayed with on campus overnight for like an admitted student day. She and I still hang out and we're pretty close and she took me to all these cool things at Notre Dame and I made a lot of friends there. I actually have some personal friends at Saint Mary's right now.
It's really holmann, like Peter said. I mean every part of the mission statement is lived out every day. You can study with all your friends, but they do genuinely love and care for you and I wanted that sense of home and being able to experience three schools when you're only like committing to one was the best option. 'cause I could do anything my heart desired in my time here.
Wonderful Britney that's great and correct me if I'm wrong, but you are. You're taking a class at Notre Dame this semester. Is that correct?
In the fall, I'll be taking the intro to engineering systems at Notre Dame.
And that's definitely not looking for that opportunity.
Uh, yeah, uh, that's that's wonderful. Our students, uh, that's right. 'cause you are just the first year. So once you are a sophomore at Holy Cross college or you have at least 30 credits on your Holy Cross transcript for some that could be second semester, first year you could take one class per semester at Notre Dame at no additional tuition charge. Great benefit again being part of that community.
Thank you Brittany, who wants to go next.

When does the housing contract come out?
So what what was like the defining factor of choosing Holy Cross was, uhm, I went to Saints and scholars, which was a summer program. Will it still is an actually this summer I will be one of the mentors for the camp and.
I just when I first stepped onto campus to I knew this was going to be my home and, um, I only applied to three schools, which spoiler alert it was Saint Mary's Notre Dame and a Holy Cross. An I've I knew I was going to be in South Bend, so that was the defining factor. Uhm Ann, I just love the community here. A man friendships that I've made.
And I will continue to make throughout my four years here, um will be long lasting and everything.
That's so nice to hear great and then and then. Last but not least.

If you have college credits from High School will they be accepted through Holy Cross?
Catherine Ficker
09:37:45 PM
Edward, at this point, we do not have an exact date for when the housing survey will come out, but we are working on it and that will be accessible via your HC portal.
Great, well thank you all so very much. And actually since we are running out of time here, the next thing we do is going to be kind of fun. But again like we have done at our other Holy Cross lives, if we didn't get to your question tomorrow we're going to.
Michael Griffin

Selena, yes we do accept college credits and AP credits, and in responding we can get a more particular answer to you.
Respond to each person to make sure that the questions that you have are answered so we will keep a will. Download this chat and if we didn't get to your questions tonight will catch up to you via email. And actually, since we might have some juniors or sophomores, maybe even freshman in high school who are watching, we have a great shout out here for Saints and scholars, so Saints and scholars is a pre college.
Summer program held on the college campus of Holy Cross College and we're hosting it this year from July 19th through the 24th. And because, um?
